I would like to start off with a recent political cartoon.

This is childish. It is embarrassing that in a developed nation, we are equating statements like “torture is wrong, period” into “The US sucks.” Still, it is so widely accepted that it needs to be addressed. There are things that someone could do and say that make them un-American or anti-American.
But disagreeing with something we’ve done– that’s no different than a sports fan thinking the coach shouldn’t have switched to a zone defense in the fourth quarter. And disagreeing with a coach doesn’t make you hate the team, rather it’s just the opposite. You want what’s best for the team, you just disagree with the decisions that were made.
Now another cartoon.

Many conservatives really do hate Obama more than they think about America right now. Their focus certainly is not “Country First,” it’s a lot more of celebrating the short comings of the president and vigorously protesting anything that he tries to put into legislation.
I’m not saying that American conservatives aren’t patriotic, or that they don’t love their country. Ironically, what I am saying is that they aren’t living up to their own slogan of “Country First” while at the same time calling American liberals America-haters for opposing the war in Iraq and wanting better health care.
Drop this line. Try to propose something useful or critique something negative, but attacking someone you disagree with as someone who hates America is just so thoughtless, childish and unbelievably juvenile I can’t seem to express it. So stop being such poop heads.
